The Chinese New Year Spectacular shows offer a great opportunity to appreciate Chinese traditional culture and arts. I attended last year’s Spectacular in Chicago and was deeply impressed by the performers’ technical perfection, their revival of the ancient and profound Chinese classical arts on the stage, and the exquisite choreography. The entire show evoked the themes of faith, tolerance and virtue that are at the heart of Chinese traditional values and which make the Chinese New Year Spectacular a unique and touching experience.
The organizers’ endeavor is commendable. The Spectacular is truly remarkable! And, this is only possible because of the organizers’ determination and dedication to the universal values of freedom, democracy and human rights. It is also because of these qualities that the Spectacular has won the appreciation and acclaim of people from all walks of life.
Again, I wish the 2008 Spectacular a great success! And, may everyone enjoy good health and prosperity in the Year of the Rat! |

Your performance this year will reach thousands of people in the Chicagoland area alone, and is an admirable display of the core values of Chinese culture: benevolence, propriety, righteousness, wisdom and faithfulness. The Spectacular is fitting way to ring in the Year of Rat-a time of renewal, hard work and productivity.
I hope this year’s show is a success, and wish you and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.

I wish the organizing committee the best as it hosts the 2008 Chinese New Year Spectacular.
Since the first Chinese moved to the United States in the 1820s, Chinese art and performance have enriched the American culture. The Spectacular will remind audience members of the delightful and brilliant traditions that began in that great civilization thousands of years ago.
Once again, best of luck! I wish all the performers and attendees a happy 4706.

I appreciate your invitation to celebrate the Chinese New Year with you and regret that I am unable to attend.
Chinese-Americans hold an important place in the Illinois’ Sixth Congressional District’s ethnically diverse community. Your celebration is essential not only in promoting understanding, but also highlighting the distinct customs and history which make the Chinese community unique.
Your celebration is a testament to the spirit of cultural appreciation which has and will continue to make the United States a country of myriad, vibrant ancestral communities unified by the sprits of freedom and opportunity.
As a Member of Congress, I look forward to continuing to be a voice for the Chinese-American community. Thank you for your invitation and enjoy today’s festivities.

Once again, on the occasion of the celebration of the Chinese New Year, I am very pleased to have this opportunity to express my very best wishes and congratulations, I truly hope that everyone will enjoy a healthy, prosperous, and happy New Year!
I am pleased to be able to use this occasion as well to remind my fellow citizens of the rapidly growing number of contributions those of proud Chinese ancestry have made to the history and ongoing development of the United States of America. You should be very proud of an ancient Chinese national history which has played such an important role in shaping the culture and forward progress of the world.
As always, though, I want to especially single out the courage and determination of those who continue to work to promote freedom and justice in their Chinese homeland. I deeply admire their extraordinary commitment to this invaluable cause.
Best wishes to everyone and their families for a joyous New Year celebration and a truly New Year!
