IL HOUSE RESOLUTION
HOUSE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the State of Illinois wish to honor the 2008 Chinese New Year Spectacular, held at the Arie Crown Theatre in Chicago on January 26, 2008; and
WHEREAS, China is known as "The Land of the Dance" for its 5,000 years of divinely imparting culture, including Chinese dance, music, and other art forms refined as its elegance developed; and
WHEREAS, The 2008 Chinese New Year Spectacular, entitled "Myths and Legends", is a presentation of genuine Chinese culture and showcases a renaissance and reclamation of the long-lost treasures in China through a series of traditionally inspired Chinese performances by bringing them to the international stage; and
WHEREAS, The three world-class performances performed in Chicago, which will transport audiences to a land of beauty and enchantment and uplift and inspire audiences with their grace and spirit, are worthy of the greatest respect; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we honor and express our support for the 2008 Chinese New Year Spectacular; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Chinese New Year Spectacular Organizing Committee.
